How is 2018 treating you so far? If the start to the new year has been anything like ours and completely hectic, you may already be day-dreaming of escaping reality for just a few hours and if this is the case, you should definitely consider the ‘Taste of Kamalaya’ retreat at Herb House – the super deluxe spa at the very lovely Lime Wood Hotel situated in the picturesque New Forest.

Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary and holistic spa in Koh Samui, Thailand, have collaborated with Herb House Spa to bring together the very best wellness experience with two three-day retreats in May 2018.

Inspired by their ancient forest surroundings and dedicated to natural well being, Kamalaya and Herb House share a passion for authentic, holistic treatments and ideologies that take inspiration from centuries of wellbeing tradition. John and Karina Stewart, the founders of Kamalaya, and a handful of their top therapists and mentors will take up a residency at Herb House for a series of three day retreats, designed to give guests a taste of Kamalaya.

John and Karina’s creation of Kamalaya was inspired by a 16 year life devotion of spiritual studies in a Himalayan community by John and Karina’s 22 years in the study and practice of Asian healing and spiritual traditions and is a Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Kamalaya has a unique approach to wellbeing and exceeds at delivering the very best holistic experience that helps encourage you to ‘open your heart, rest your mind, nurture your body and engage your spirit and connect with the power and wonder within’. The Kamalaya and Herb House teams will escort a group through three days of talks, group meditations, morning yoga, spa treatments and nutritional discussions. All of which should leave you feeling enlightened and refreshed. Sign us up!

THE FIRST MEDICINE

The retreat will be complemented by a specially designed menu as ‘food is an essential part of our daily life, it is the perfect vehicle to provide the support necessary for enhanced vitality and optimal health. All holistic medical traditions have regarded food as the first medicine’.

The menus featured during the retreat will be a combination of Eastern and Western culinary traditions between Karina Stewart and Kamalaya’s culinary director Kai Mueller, Luke Holder, Head Chef of Lime Wood’s Hartnett Holder & Co and Sheila Hulme, creative Chef of Raw & Cured at Herb House.

The dishes themselves will include lamb, poultry, seafood as well as vegetarian options with fresh organic produce where possible along with fresh herbs and spices to enhance the medicinal value of the ingredients and of course generously add to the flavour.

LIFE ENHANCEMENT PERSONAL MENTORING

The retreat includes one personal session with one of Kamalaya’s Meditation and Life Enhancement Mentors, who is a former monk from India. His teachings are inspired by ancient Asian philosophies, which he delivers with a practical approach to modern day questions and things that you may find particularly stressful or concerning.

These personal sessions focus on helping you let go of conflicting and repetitive thoughts and responses in every day life. The aim is to help you rediscover your core strengths and values, establish greater love and connection in relationships, heal past emotions and discover a new way to get the best from life.
