Bespoke Family Kitchen, Berkhamsted
We recently completed this lovely bespoke kitchen project in a detached family home in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. The open plan kitchen / dining area leads down into the sitting room that has French windows accessing the garden – it’s an incredible open plan space for the whole family to enjoy. The Nickleby kitchen, with its key values of symmetry and proportion, and the overall simplicity of this classic English design, really suits this space perfectly. With one long run and a peninsula, the kitchen also makes great use of two hidden pantries for storing dry goods and baking supplies keeping countertops clear of visual clutter.
The kitchen was designed bespoke to suit the space and the peninsula represents a brilliant design solution providing additional storage of six pull out drawers and seating for the children during cooking and meal times. Opposite the main cooking area, the large worktop on the peninsula acts as the food prep area and is a great sociable space for the family to gather around.
Range Cooker with False Chimney
The classic Nickleby chimney creates a focal point for the space with the Falcon range cooker in the perfect spot for usability of the prep and cooking area. The splashback is antique effect mirror which is great for bouncing light around the room and giving the illusion of additional space.
Along the rest of the single run is the main washing up area with an integrated Miele dishwasher and eurocargo pull out bin either side of the Kohler deerfield smart divide sink with the Callisto tap by Perrin & Rowe and the classic Quooker boiling tap (both finished in polished nickel). At the far end is the American style fridge freezer which is located just across the walk in pantry – another great design solution built into the supporting column. The soft colour palette in this project gives a super serene feel to the space with the polished nickel accents from the Nickleby pulls and knobs giving an underlying feeling of luxury.
