In this Markham kitchen in St. Albans, the worktop and splashbacks are made from the same material – quartz carrara – which ensures a simple, clean and fresh look in keeping with the simplicity of the bespoke kitchen design.
The quartz carrara, as well as being a visual match, is also highly practical and known for its maximum durability and minimum water absorption.

The sink is by Kohler, as is the distinctive Karbon tap which has pivoting articulated joints that mean you can position the tap in a variety of ways giving maximum control and reach. Kohler take a real pride in their holistic approach to kitchen sink and tap design, studying how people really work in their kitchens, and considering how a space can perform more efficiently. Aesthetically, the Karbon tap is reminiscent of the iconic Angelpoise lamp – it’s got that angular look about it. But the actual design of the tap is really exceptionally clever because it features three articulating pivot points for a total range of motion. The tap can be fully extended to fill large pots; lowered into the sink for food preparing and cleaning, or folded out of the way when not in use. Another clever feature is an in-the-deck joystick valve which puts you in control of water temperature and flow.
