Black Roe bar and grill launched in the heart of Mayfair in March 2016 and brought the finest Pacific Rim cuisine to London for all to enjoy. The moody restaurant is now an exciting food lovers haven we just can’t get enough of and here’s why…
The dark and moody restaurant features grey walls with distressed luxury details with hints of worn, wood and leather, embracing a really cool vibe that invites you in. Specialising in ‘poke’ cuisine (which is essentially deconstructed sushi), the 60-seat food lovers restaurant takes influence from both modern Asian and Hawaiian flavours.
Dishes on the main menu are designed to be shared (but we certainly won’t judge if you don’t) and range from decadent whole lobster mac and cheese, Waimea’n sticky lamb chops and octopus aioli cooked on a kiawe wood grill to lighter tuna tataki, sashimi and pan seared hake with jungle chilli.
Don’t forget to investigate the poke counter at the very front of the restaurant – that’s where all the magic happens.
Black Roe isn’t just for dinner, it’s an equally ideal spot for lunch. Highly recommended is the Black Rowe bento box or try a selection of the restaurant’s bestselling favourites including ahi & yellowtail poke, prawn Caeser Salad, shumai gyoza and BBQ fried chicken, a thrifty but deluxe option for a working lunch.
If you’ve got a little more time to spare, why not try the lunch A La Carte menu with dishes such as the Black Roe burger with truffled gruyere & Wagyu beef, fishcake with a gentle curry veloute or chopped salad on a spiced cauliflower puree.
The opulent bar can be found at the back on the restaurant. Here you can discover signature cocktails and blends on classics created by expert mixologists – what better way to accompany your meal than with an expertly crafted drink?
Always an innovative dining experience with a vibrant atmosphere perfectly positioned in the heart of London. For more information visit the website here.
