PROJECT DETAILS
A cook’s kitchen through and through, this wonderful project includes the kitchen and dining area, home office, dresser cabinetry in the sitting area and the utility room. The clients had a very clear idea of what they wanted the space to look like after a long weekend in Stockholm where they fell in love with the understated yet very elegant Swedish interiors that combine a discreet and calming colour palette, with warm oak and beautiful and original decorative pieces.

A false chimney focal point was designed to house the Lacanche range cooker with a traditional overmantel and three drawer chests either side. The working side of the island is the main scullery area with two large under-mount sinks looking out across the garden and a large integrated French door fridge freezer adjacent. The island acts as the main prep area with masses of storage below as well as the essential integrated bin and under-counter fridge. A bank of tall cabinetry is home to the cook’s pantry, breakfast pantry (central) and the crockery cupboard. Tucked around the corner from the main kitchen is the home office area which is a quiet nook to catch up on emails and admin.  A beautiful glazed dresser was designed to display the beautiful Astier de Villatte ceramics owned by the clients.

Utility Room
All the usual suspects are here but designed in a way to create a super calm and relaxing space. The washing machine and tumble dryer are hidden away behind tall cabinetry as is the tall wine storage unit. Open shelving ensures the space doesn’t feel too dense and overloaded, and provides a beautiful visual connection to the kitchen.

This is a small but perfectly formed home office tucked around the corner from the main kitchen and offers a quiet nook to catch up on emails or check a recipe. The cabinetry is finished in H|M ‘Farthing’ which contrasts beautifully with the warm Classic oak and aged brass hardware. Tall cabinetry to the right of the desk offers storage for books and small folders that might otherwise clutter other areas of the kitchen, and can be easily reached from the desk seat.
