A second home for travellers, Twin Farms Vermont is 300 acres of blissful seclusion – perfect for when things are back to normal again! The ideal spot for both activities or pure privacy, Twin Farms aims to cater for clients who are both adventurers at heart or looking for a more serene holiday.

The story of how Twin Farms came to be how we know it today begins with Sinclair Lewis. If you aren’t aware, Sinclair Lewis is a Nobel prize-winning author who proposed to a journalist called Dorothy Thompson, she promised to marry him if he bought her a farm in Vermont with sweeping lawns, orchards, and “delicious air.” They found their idyll in a 1795-era farmhouse on 300 acres — which they purchased in 1928 for $10,000 (a substantial such of money at the time).

Twin Farms is an all-inclusive 5-star retreat that offers the epitome of New England luxury. Designed to feel natural and inviting, this resort is an adults only destination that offers tailored culinary programmes making each experience different. From an in-room dining set-up as if eating in your very own private restaurant, to a chef’s kitchen experience teaching guests the how to in America’s most esteemed kitchens.

The food at Twin Farms is a reflection of everything else, dreamy and on point. Chef Nathan Rich uses the finest, locally sourced ingredients from trusted local and regional partners – the very best of local produce all sourced within 5 miles of the estate. You can peruse their delectably good looking menu here.

The first nine rooms at Twin Farms opened on October 1, 1993 soon followed by five additional cottages which were added in 1995 and 1996. Soon after a spa, chalet, aviary and farmhouse at the Copper hill in 2005 brought the number of accommodations to 20, where it remains today. No matter what room you choose to stay in, Twin Farms promise you’ll feel right at home – take a look at some of the unique, cosy rooms here.

Each season brings a myriad of possibilities at Twin Farms and promises to be more beautiful than the last. Spring offers hikes in the woods with a picnic to follow, then later in the evening a trip to the pub where you can compete in a friendly game of billiards whilst enjoying music from the jukebox. An exclusive partnership with Stave Puzzles also allows guests to get busy with the world’s most expensive puzzles so you can work together as a team or take time out by yourself.

Summer is the time to try your hand (and patience) at fly fishing on Copper Pond, explore the 300 acres on foot or bike. Croquet is also on the cards followed by a late evening story share with a drink whilst enjoying the warm summer breeze.

Fall is crisp and vibrant and soon succeeded by cold winters when cross-country skiing and ice skating is the order of the day, and let’s not forget a warming cup of hot chocolate before getting ready for a soul warming evening meal.
