Originally designed in the 1930s by a Welsh designer called Ralph Hancock, the gardens took four years to complete and opened officially in 1938. Nestled amongst one and a half acres of themed gardens with natural wildlife, The Roof Gardens is a one-of-a-kind London destination.
Arranged around the central Clubhouse the Spanish, English Woodland and Tudor gardens have over 70 full sized trees and a flowing stream with fish and wildlife including four very famous pink flamingos. If you’ve never been, it’s so worth a visit – a lovely opportunity to see London in a completely different way.
The Winter Terrace officially opened at the beginning of November and will be open until February 2016.
With a selection of baked cheese, winter cocktails and hot chocolates, it’s a great way to get into the festive spirit if you’re not quite feeling it yet.
The baked cheeses are served with a selection of freshly baked breads and include a Comte Cheese Fondue, Camembert and the epic Vacherin Mont D’or. Take a look at the winter terrace menu here.
With a pretty punchy choice of warming cocktails, it’s guaranteed to be a corker of a time – take a look at the cocktail menu here.
The Winter Terrace menu is available Wednesday – Friday from 12:00 – 15:00 and Tuesday – Saturday 18:30 – 23:00.
