Baked pears with vanilla ice cream

A deliciously light autumnal dessert that combines warming flavours with fresh fruit and ice cream. This recipe is ridiculously easy and takes no time at all to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 3 pears halved and cored
  • Maple syrup to coat
  • 2 tbsp of melted butter
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Chopped pecans to garnish

Method

  1. Begin by preheating the oven to 180°C.
  2. Place the pears into your chosen dish and add the maple syrup, melted butter and spices.
  3. Give everything a good stir to ensure the pears are fully coated and bake for 40-45 minutes.
  4. Before serving, place a scoop of vanilla ice cream into the centre of each pear and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
