PROJECT DETAILS

This family home had recently undergone a huge refurbishment with the kitchen being the final piece of this incredible project.

Kitchen

The original kitchen was dark – even in the summer months – and lacked storage, so the brief was to create a much lighter and brighter kitchen that felt airy and spacious but also providing more storage and zoned spaces to better suit the family’s everyday requirements.

The focal point to this space is undoubtedly the false chimney and Lacanche Modern Cluny range cooker finished in stainless steel with an induction hob and gives this cooking run a contemporary edge. Bespoke Westin extraction is hidden above and worktop space either side allows for food prep, whilst the open niche shelving concealed within the false chimney provide the ideal spot to store everyday condiments, for example salt and pepper within arm’s reach of the Lacanche.

Island Peninsula

Following on to the right of the cooking run is the peninsula, used as the main food prep area, it has CRL Verona Quartz which is durable and easy to maintain – perfect for a young family. A countertop cupboard provides food storage as well as large swan neck drawers beneath the worktop and two cupboards on the opposite side of the peninsula providing masses of essential and easy-to-access storage space.

The light and bright sink run follows looks out onto the beautiful landscaped garden beyond and features a Perrin & Rowe Athenian tap with rinse and classic Quooker hot tap, all finished in polished nickel to match the surrounding hardware which works perfectly with the light Tailored Grey paint colour.

The tambour door is finished in Berkeley oak and runs along from the sink run and has open shelving above that provides essential storage space for glassware and larger items like mixing bowls or cook books. The tambour itself provides the perfect place to hide away the Dualit toaster and bread board from view, giving the kitchen a clutter free feel. To the left of the tambour door is a countertop drinks cupboard with a Miele microwave surrounded by shelving which is used to store tea, biscuits, coffee and crockery. Directly underneath is worktop space used for drinks prep and small appliance storage like a small coffee machine. The cupboard is flanked either side by tall Nickleby cabinetry, to the right is an integrated Miele fridge and to the left, crockery and tableware storage.

Dining Area

Directly across from the kitchen is the dining area which is used for everyday family meals as well as low key and relaxed meals with friends and family, a bespoke TV unit has been designed at the end of the dining table. Finished in H|M ‘Top Hat’ with polished nickel hardware it is reduced in depth to ensure it does not encroach on the dining area and is the ideal contrast to the light grey kitchen cabinetry.

Maldon Project

This kitchen has been designed with Nickleby cabinetry and is finished in light H|M colour Tailored Grey - a bespoke paint colour made exclusively for Humphrey Munson by Mylands.

The peninsula in this kitchen project is ideal for baking and food prep, ingredients are kept in the countertop cupboard as well as beneath the countertop which keeps the quartz worktop free of unnecessary clutter.

An open niche concealed within the false chimney is the ideal spot for everyday condiments. Finished in the same Tailored Grey paint colour as the rest of the cabinetry.

Berkeley Oak tambour door runs along from the sink run and has open shelving above that provides essential storage space for glassware and larger items like mixing bowls or cook books.

A tambour door to the right finished in Berkeley oak is shown open here and is used as a countertop breakfast space, the open bi-fold doors finished in Tailored Grey to the left show a drinks cupboard. Both provide the ideal space for small everyday appliances like a Miele microwave or Dualit toaster.

These bi-fold doors are finished in Tailored Grey and open to reveal a countertop drinks cupboard which provides essential everyday storage for small appliances like a coffee machine as well as crockery, tea and coffee.
