PROJECT DETAILS
This incredible H|M project comprises an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room with TV cabinetry and drinks cabinetry, pantry, utility room, boot room and hallway cabinetry in a bespoke family home by St. Philips Homes. So often we can get caught up with how interior design looks, but really it’s about how it make you feel. The brief for this project was to create calm, relaxing and cohesive spaces with an easy sense of flow:

“We wanted to find a bespoke, handcrafted kitchen company who genuinely cared about how our clients would use their kitchen and living space. After careful consideration, we opted for Humphrey Munson. The team at H|M worked alongside St. Philips Homes to fully capture, understand and hone the brief for our clients; making suggestions which ultimately made a huge difference to the project. H|M’s experience of interior architecture enabled us to find space to incorporate a walk in pantry, utility and boot room. We think this is an extraordinary family kitchen and living area, which balances a beautiful aesthetic with really useable, functional space. Together, we have brought this home to life and we have thoroughly enjoyed working with H|M’s design, project management and on site teams during the process.”

At Humphrey Munson we don’t have sales people, we simply have a design team, trained by our founder Peter Humphrey, who see design holistically and understand the value that design has on our clients and their wellbeing. Our design approach is inclusive and all-encompassing because as we know, a whole is indeed greater than the sum of its parts. For us there is no greater satisfaction than knowing our projects meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.

Kitchen
A false chimney focal point was designed to house the Lacanche Chalonnais range cooker with large three drawer chests either side. The working side of the island is the main scullery area with a large Kohler under-mount sink, Quooker hot water tap and two dishwashers for maximum convenience. There is also a plumbed in Miele combination-steam oven to compliment the cooking capability of the Lacanche. The island has seating for four as well as Sub-Zero fridge freezer drawers and Miele under-counter wine storage. A storage run includes tall crockery cupboard, French door Gaggenau fridge freezer and breakfast pantry with integrated Miele microwave, coffee machine and toaster.

Walk-In Pantry
The classic walk in pantry featuring open pantry tables, quartz worktops and artisan shelves so there is plenty of storage for non-perishable food storage as well as countertop appliances and cookery books.

Soft Seating / Dining Area
The TV cabinetry provides a lovely balance of scale and proportion across the large room and offers a wonderful opportunity to display decorative objects as well as additional storage for wine with x-frame cabinetry. The ultimate drinks cabinet provides a spot to decant and serve wine or fix a drink with countertop space for storing spirits and an under-counter integrated fridge for mixers and soft drinks (a top freezer section is great for storing ice made in the Gaggenau fridge freezer).

Utility / Boot Room
A combined utility and boot room ensures the perfect spot to decamp with hanging space for coats and bags and a bespoke bench seat to put on and take off shoes or boots. The boiler is carefully concealed away in a tall storage cupboard, while on the opposite wall is the main utility run with the washing machine and tumble dryer housed in a tall cupboard, sink area with open shelving and another tall cupboard which is a thermostatically controlled drying cupboard.

Hallway
The hallway features bespoke inset shelving with integrated lighting and another bench seat with hooks above for hanging everyday coats and jackets.
