Earlier this week we caught up with Sara from The Circle Wine Company and she was telling us all about this fantastic Champagne by A. Robert. We hadn’t heard about it before and with Christmas on the horizon, what better time to try it out.
This remarkable family winery has been operating since 1722, making it somewhat more experienced than Ruinart (1729), Taittinger (1734), Moet & Chandon (1743), Lanson (1760), Veuve Cliquot (1772), Louis Roederer (1776), Perrier-Jouet (1811) and Bollinger (1829).
Arnaud Robert has been running the business for the past decade and has overseen an impressive expansion program whilst maintaining a focus on exceptional quality.
A couple of interesting facts: first, A. Robert Champagne is the official Champagne partner to the Louvre Museum in Paris which is testament to their standing and status in France; and second, each first born son in the family is given a name that starts with ‘A’… presumably so there is no expensive re-design of the wine label.
This is such a great champagne with a real sense of finesse and it really is the perfect festive fizz. It’s light, well-balanced and fruity.
Pale gold robe. The nose is redolent of yellow fruits and citrus with floral hints. The mouth is well balanced, attractive and fruity, creating a joyous whole which finishes fresh.
Circle Wine currently have Champagne A. Robert available for £22.50 per bottle. They offer free delivery on 6 or more bottles. Orders can be placed via email or telephone, details below:
