Jim Lawrence Lighting

Published:

We’ve been such big fans of lighting by Jim Lawrence over the last few years. They design and handcraft the most beautiful lighting products from their workshop in Hadleigh, Suffolk. Back in 1993 Jim Lawrence began making candlesticks in the farm forge for friends and had such a positive reaction he began working on new designs and expanding his range. Today the company employs a dedicated team of over 90 people which includes engineers, welders, painters, seamstresses, lampshade makers, electrical technicians, customer services assistants and lots more!

The Longford kitchen in our Felsted showroom had two Jim Lawrence pendants over the island which were hand-finished in antiqued brass. They look absolutely perfect in the Longford kitchen with its painted cabinetry and period oak accents.

I love how you can see the reflection of the pendant lamp in the antique distressed effect mirror splashback in the image above. It’s amazing since then how these pendant lamps can really capture a person’s imagination. The way they are all hand-finished really gives a feeling of exceptional quality and that is what our customers love – we all know that good quality lasts so it makes sense that customers want kitchen accessories to be as timeless as their kitchen design.

We were really excited to see that Jim Lawrence have just introduced a new range of pendants finished in “Heritage Copper” which look really stunning. They are a perfect way of incorporating the metallic accent trend into your kitchen space or dining area. Each heritage copper pendant is hand-finished with a distinctive antiquing process that gives it that lovely subtle look.

Our clients seem to really enjoy being able to visit our workshop and see their kitchen being made. It’s always exciting to see a project come to life right in front of you so going behind the scenes into the workshop is really interesting. Jim Lawrence also offer the chance for visitors to take a tour of their workshop so you can see these amazing lights being made right in front of you. Their workshop is at The Ironworks, Lady Lane, Hadleigh, Suffolk IP7 6BQ and they also have a large showroom which showcases their beautiful lighting and homewares too.

If you’re in London you can catch them at the upcoming RHS Chelsea Flower Show from 19th-23rd May 2015. It’s the first time Jim Lawrence will be exhibiting at the show and their stand will feature a wide range of handcrafted outdoor and conservatory lighting.
