Bursting with fun things to keep families of all ages and sizes entertained, the property boasts an outdoor heated pool, its very own library, a piano, home cinema and outdoor area with swings and zipwire. Let’s not forget plenty of woodland to build dens and let the imagination run wild in the sunshine.  A large barbecue and sun terrace offers a spot for long lazy lunches.

For a change of scenery or for explorers the coastal position of Butterfield House means that a secluded beach is not far away. Enjoy a day on the beach with a picnic, visit the Merlin Golf Club, Eden project or simply take a stroll through the surrounding Cornish countryside. This place has it all!

FIREFLY

Firefly is the ultimate Cornish hideaway for two. Radiating rustic charm the woodcutter’s cabin has a hot tub and wildlife pond offering a back to nature style experience – but with all the mod cons. Located via North Cornwall’s country lanes in a tiny hamlet near Mawgan Porth, the timber-clad ‘shack’ is more than it seems…

In the summer the outside fire offers the ideal place for BBQ’s or sit on one of the rocking chairs and stargaze. In the winter curl up by the fire indoors and watch that favourite movie on Netflix – this place is great no matter the time of year.

The pared back feeling of this log cabin style home stay is so refreshing. Organic flora surrounding the home provides a cocoon from the outside world. So you can it in the hot tub and listed to wildlife or turn on the Sonos.

Just round the corner from Firefly are some of Cornwall’s best spas, beaches, Watergate Bay (where you can indulge in a champagne cocktail or two) – or stay put and cook something slow in the AGA then enjoy it al fresco.

GWENDOLYN

Gwendolyn is impressive to say the least. Full of rustic riches both inside and out, this elegant self-catering cottage in Perranporth is praiseworthy. The thatched luxury cottage is the ideal escape all year round. In the summer sit outside under twinkling lights roasting marshmallows over the fire pit and in the winter sit by the fire or enjoy a relaxed dinner in the ever light and bright garden room.

Indoors we love that the rooms at Gwendolyn have been designed with soft hues and exposed floorboards to create a calm and restful escape. Outside you will find an alfresco barbecue and soft seating area complete with a hot tub. Nearby enjoy a feast at the large outdoor dining table whilst taking in the glorious coastal views.

Just a stone’s throw from the North Cornwall coast, there’s plenty to do once you’re done relaxing and feel like venturing out pack up your towels and spades and head to the Perranporth beach. A haven for surfers and families alike because of the sand bar – the only bar on the beach in the whole of the UK! As well as beaches there is the Newquay Zoo and aquarium, Reen Manor Riding stables (to fulfil those long lost dreams of riding a horse on the beach) or enjoy a music festival.
