5 Sofas We Love from William Yeoward

Since its founding in 1983, William Yeoward has remained as one of London’s leading creative forces. Opening the doors to its first store on King’s Road Chelsea in 1985, William’s vision behind the shop began with the simple ethos that if you cannot find what you are looking for, the best thing to do is find someone to make it for you and that’s exactly what he did. Originally named ‘Yeoward’, William’s first shop showcased antiques, objects and other pieces he has designed and commissioned for numerous design projects. It didn’t take long for Yeoward to flourish and has evolved into the company it is today.

Perceived globally as ‘Modern British’ William Yeoward has gained an excellent reputation for exquisite craftsmanship, combined with flair of originality that you would be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. The William Yeoward staples include furniture, upholstery, crystal, lighting, fabrics, wall coverings, rugs and home accessories, all these are made to the very highest standards. Striving for excellence in every piece and above all, incredible customer service. We particularly love William Yeoward’s range of sofas.

There is such a beautiful range that come in a selection of sizes and perhaps most importantly of all, you can also customise them with your own fabrics. We’ve taken the liberty of putting together a list of our top five favourites:

The Sandown is both elegant and timeless, a true classic for the home that will surpass trends. Designed to suit any space, the shaping of the arms, tramline on the base and curved style of the legs have all been carefully considered to create perfect proportions. Perhaps most importantly, it is also super comfy so you can have the best of both worlds!

The Heronsford low arm sofa (also available in higher arm here) offers a slightly more classical profile. The shape is enhanced by the deep stitched back detail, the result is an effortlessly refined, timeless design that will work perfectly within both classic and contemporary spaces.

One word in particular comes to mind for the Canford sofa; sleek. Angular lines, metal legs and a smart stitched grid on the fixed upholstered seat all combine to create a super smart look that would work so well in patterned fabrics as it would deep greens. A wonderfully simple piece of furniture that doesn’t compromise on comfort.

Boasting oodles of character, the curved lines of the Glendale truly make it stand out from the crowd. Wonderfully comfortable, detailing and smart bolster cushions provide the finishing touch to this sophisticated sofa shape.

Last but by no means least, the Shoreville looks right at home in both a paired back, edgy city apartment or a laid back country barn. Less formal than some of the styles above, but no less stylish, the Shoreville offers great flexibility with its clean lines and fine proportions.

It is important to note that all William Yeoward Concept furniture is available in a range of luxurious stocked velvets or linens. From plain velvets available in 18 jewel-like colour-ways or three pure 100% linen qualities in a total of 9 sophisticated shades from whites, naturals and greys to blues. You can also choose to have your sofa upholstered in a material of your own choice.

Something we just have to mention are the newest editions to the William Yeoward Autumn / Winter rug collection 2023. Focussed on bringing clients wonderful designs of the very highest quality; from the deep colours achieved whilst dyeing yarns, to the density of the handtufting and handknotting employed by our artisan partners, every William Yeoward rug is carefully considered.
