Amazónico, the Latin American restaurant and Madrid favourite has launched in the heart of Mayfair transporting guests on a journey along the Amazon river with a visually stunning restaurant and tantalisingly tasty menu. So step inside and see what this new restaurant is all about…

Opening its doors in one of London’s most famous squares, the new Mayfair restaurant Amazónico launched this November 2019. Designed to flow from the bar at the entrance, through to the lounge, sushi counter and the restaurant with a private dining room for those extra special occasions (more precisely a 20-person rainforest-themed space) the entire space invites discovery.

Drawing inspiration from the cultural diversity and gastronomic heritage of the Amazon region, Amazónico offers a unique explosion to the senses, from live music, lush natural décor to a distinctive culinary experience.

The menu is as vibrant and exciting as the decor and has been curated by husband and wife team, Sandro Silva and Marta Seco (two of Madrid’s best-known restauranteurs) and features a collection of Latin American cuisines and all their influences, from traditional Brazilian dishes, and Peruvian sushi…..

…to delicious cachaça cocktails.

The interior was designed by renowned artist Lázaro Rosa-Violan Amazon from source to sea, featuring natural and raw materials. “All the lush plants and products that surround guests are natural, organic and warm, with lots of wood and terracotta features to capture the rainforest feel.” – Lázaro Rosa-Violan.

Nightly jazz performances at Amazónico entertain diners in the restaurant, which is decked with luscious live plants. As dusk turns to dark, the lounge and striking bar embellished with model peacocks emanates energetic ‘elec-tropical’ sounds and Latin American tunes from the resident DJ programme.

“Amazónico is a journey, a trip down the Amazon river through Brazil, Colombia, Peru. The rich culinary heritage of the region has influences from Japan, China and India, which makes it unique. The Amazon is more than a river, it connects people, cultures and traditions. This, together with an homage to nature, is at the core of our concept.” – Cofounder and Chef Sandro Silva.

“London is one of the most dynamic and cosmopolitan cities in the world, with a really exciting and thriving restaurant scene, so when we talked about taking Amazónico out of Madrid and putting it on the international stage, it had to be London. Like the Amazon, London is home to an abundance of cultures and lifestyles which mirrors the origins of the concept.

Our mission is to make every visit unique and different, with Latin American emotion and passion at its core bringing our energy to the square – there’ll be music, performance, fantastic food and great company.” – Co-founder Marta Seco

Amizonico is now open for reservations reservations, to book a table call 020 7404 5000 or visit the website here.
