Cap Rocat | Mallorca España

Just a short flight away from the southern Spanish coast lies Cap Rocat. An Ancient fortress originally designed for defence (but fortunately for us, never used for purpose), it was lovingly restored 10 years ago by Antonio Obrador Studio. The studio have excellently preserved and enhanced the ancient fortress paying particular attention to the architecture and natural environment of the complex. In their hard work they have created more than a hotel; it’s paradise.

If there is a more beautifully restored fortress with luxury accommodation, exquisite restaurants and a beach just a few steps away we don’t know it.

If you choose to dine in (which is highly recommended) Cap Rocat has two restaurants to offer, La Fortaleza and Sea Club, both of which are available for non-resident guests.

For a true taste of the Mediterranean, Cap Rocat offers the chance to enjoy Majorcan cuisine with La Fortaleza is the place to go. Chef Víctor Garcia and his team share their passion for good quality ingredients, sourced locally, and culture.

In the warmer months, La Fortaleza serves food on the roof, the highest point of the fortress. Not only are the views of the bay mesmerising but diners are offered a welcome cocktail on the terrace which is lit with torches and candles – a dreamlike setting for dinner.

For a little less formality and more of an essence of ‘fun in the sun’, the Sea Club offers summer inspired meals from grilled meat and fish washed down with a crisp bottle of wine and forget your troubles.

To unwind in an already relaxed environment, the fortress hotel also offers a Spa which has an indoor saltwater swimming pool, 12 metres bellow ground, treatment cabins and is available for non-resident guests. The Spa itself is carved out of the rocks providing a sheltered feeling, so take a swim, lean back against the stone wall, breath and unwind.
