Cherie Lee | Modern country living

Cherie Lee has developed and perfected the art of bringing a truly contemporary look and feel to country houses across the UK and this incredible project in Hertfordshire is not different. Captured by photographer Ray Main, we are delighted to share the images here on the HM blog…

Humphrey Munson designed, manufactured and installed the kitchen, utility room and bar cabinetry.  All areas have Spenlow cabinetry finished in Greenwich oak – a bespoke black oak finish exclusive to Humphrey Munson. The hardware (Pip knobs and Rudge handles) are finished in mid antique brass waxed.

The Lacanche range cooker is positioned within a false chimney that provides a focal point to the room and allows the countertop cupboards to fit snugly into each side with an additional open shelving section closest to the window to balance the design and create symmetry in the main run.

Using the same cabinetry design and finish for the bar cabinetry ensures consistency across the room with the same height and scale / proportion of cabinetry.

The beautiful extension was designed, manufactured and installed by Westbury Garden Rooms. It is a triumph of space and light bringing a true rhythm to the design.

Capturing the client’s style perfectly, Cherie and her team have designed the space to feel relaxing and welcoming with a cool, contemporary feel underpinning the rooms.

Just one quick look at the home bar in more detail…

The central section is closed away when not in use, but when needed opens up to provide countertop space for preparing drinks. One of the most fun aspects of this design is the concealed Fisher & Paykel CoolDrawer which opens up below to provide access to mixers, beer, wine and champagne. The classic X-frame open storage provides additional storage for red wine either side.
