Design Inspiration | Laundry Room

A well designed laundry room can make such a huge difference to a how a busy family household operates. The wishlist is usually longer than the space available, but the trick is to squeeze every last drop out and make this space as practical and aesthetically pleasing as possible:

Here are some recent HM projects including laundry rooms to inspire you:

A lovely large utility room with Miele washing machine and tumble dryer – we always specify Miele appliances simply because they are the best; brilliant functionality, low maintenance and they last the longest.

There is a large butler sink with a tap and rinse – the rinse is a utility room essential, for example, it helps with flower arranging as you can fill awkward shaped vases.

Plenty of countertop space is essential for folding and sorting laundry.

The HM Mini Step, shown here in Berkeley oak, is perfect for reaching the top of cupboards.

We included a drying cupboard in this Surrey project for items that cannot go in the tumble dryer.

We also included an integrated bin and dishwasher for overflow when entertaining. The cabinetry design is Spenlow, finished in Tailored Grey with polished nickel hardware.

At the Suffolk project, we included a hanging rail below the shelf for hanging ironed laundry, this keeps it out of the way.

At either end of the cabinetry run are overflow integrated cooling appliances – refrigerator and freezer, this helps out when entertaining at the weekend or when guests are over in the holidays.

The Suffolk project included two double-drying cupboards that are thermostatically controlled.

Doubling up on laundry appliances has been so popular since the lockdowns. Here we stacked the tumble dryers on the washing machines, this is framed with Nickleby cabinetry that is finished in Goose Iron.
