PEAR & BRIE SKEWERS WITH A DRIZZLE OF BALSAMIC VINEGAR

Published:

Party season is almost upon us. Entertaining a crowd doesn’t have to be complicated and we are here to help keep it as stress free as possible with this super simple canapĂ© recipe… well, it’s more an assembly of ingredients than anything else but it’s absolutely delicious…

INGREDIENTS

  • 2-3 ripe pears (but not too ripe, they need a little it bite to them)
  • 225-250g brie
  • A bag of rocket
  • 50g walnuts, crushed/chopped
  • 1 tbsp good quality balsamic vinegar (you don’t want it too runny)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Bamboo skewers (or similar)

METHOD

  1. Begin by slicing the pears into quarters, and removing the seeds and stems. Cut the quarters into rough cubes and slice the brie to match, leaving the rind on. It will all get a bit messy otherwise!
  2. Take a skewer and thread a piece of pear, a bundle of rocket, followed by a piece of brie. Arrange on a serving dish or platter and repeat until all the cheese and pears are used up.
  3. Mix the balsamic and honey in a small bowl and drizzle over the skewers with a sprinkling of walnuts and salt before serving to guests.
