Recipe Notes | Eastern Standard

Published:

The Eastern Standard is a delectably indulgent cocktail that is super simple, takes no time to make and packs a punch in flavour. We spotted Lily Paulson-Ellis making these for a Friday night during lockdown and just had to have a go.

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 6 x relatively thick slices of cucumber (peeled)
  • 6 x fresh mint leaves
  • 100ml gin (we used Sipsmith)
  • 25ml freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 20ml homemade sugar syrup (we used this recipe as it’s really quick and easy)

Method

1. Muddle the cucumber slices in the base of the cocktail shaker until no large pieces remain.

2. Add the rest of the ingredients (we then muddled again for a few seconds) then add plenty of ice.

3. Shake for as long as you like then fine strain into two chilled glass of choice. Then garnish with a slice of cucumber or fresh mint – whichever your preference you won’t be disappointed

Tip: If you’re not a gin fan, simply swap it out for vodka.
