Small room. Big impact. The London showroom bathroom

Published:

We approached the design of our guest bathroom in the Chelsea showroom as we would any client project; holistically, creatively and with an eye for detail.

We’ve always said that the guest bathroom is always a great room to have a bit of fun with and you can perhaps feel a little bolder and braver with design choices. Here’s what we chose for the Chelsea guest loo…

At the heart of the space is our Harlyn II vanity unit, finished in the dark, moody hue Mr Banks. The dramatic cabinetry colour is offset by the light tones of the CRL Verona quartz top. We chose Marton handles and the Waterworks Henry Chronos faucet with walnut lever handles, both in polished brass, to add a layer of warmth. These finishing touches elevate the vanity and tie together the room’s rich palette.

Working from the ground up creates the base that you will build the foundations of your room upon. We chose the Lennox porcelain tiles. These tiles, with their deep green tones and natural veining, create a real wow factor. Not only do they deliver visual impact, but they’re also a practical choice for a guest bathroom. With a thin grout line, upkeep is super simple.

The Kensington chequer wall tiles, in charcoal and off-white marble, are a standout feature. The classic off-white marble has warm grey veining, while the charcoal marble has beautiful natural markings that give a softer effect. The tumbled edges lend a relaxed yet luxurious feel, allowing the materials to shine without being overbearing. The remaining walls are clad in bespoke HM panelling finished in Southwold. First seen in the Butler’s kitchen in Felsted, we loved it so much we brought it into this design too.

Above the vanity sits the Montpellier mirror in Berkeley oak. This mirror, available in multiple timber and painted finishes, ties in the natural materials and complements the timber accents in the faucet handles.

Finally, the pièce de résistance is the lighting! The right lighting is key to bringing a space together and adding a finishing touch of sophistication to this room and the Emperor wall lights in brass by Porta Romana did just that. It’s such a soft glow, perfect for this bathroom setting.
