Design Inspiration | Media Cabinetry

Published:

One of the things we love about including media cabinetry into the design of a project is the consistency of the joinery that runs throughout the space, ensuring a gentle flow and continuity – this is the case for open plan spaces, or nearby family rooms/snugs.

Here are some recent projects including media cabinetry that we love – we hope you find these inspiring:

In this Cobham II project, we included the media cabinetry just off the main kitchen which has, Nickleby cabinetry finished in Tailored Grey and Farthing with brushed nickel Stagg hardware. The crucial trading rug softens this area and makes it more cosy.

As with all bespoke cabinetry, everything we do at HM is designed to suit the space perfectly. In the Barnes village project III we designed cabinetry around the existing fireplace in this Edwardian family home.

Made using traditional joinery techniques, this Longford cabinetry includes open shelving for decorative accessories, books to the left-hand side, and a custom designed media cabinetry piece to the right-hand side. We added Berkeley oak countertops and mid aged brass waxed hardware to soften Mainsail finished cabinetry.

In this project in South London, the media cabinetry was designed to include additional storage at the top with lift up Nickleby doors.
Closed cupboards designed beneath the open shelving provide a place to conceal games consoles, internet hubs, DVD’s, remotes and other items you may not necessarily want on display. This media cabinetry design is perfect for an open plan kitchen, dining, and living space and also features x-frame wine storage and integrated lighting.

We love the look of the lighter painted exterior and darker interior as this helps to conceal the television when it’s turned off.

The Seer Green project is a recent wowy example of how to design, manufacture and install cabinetry on a large scale. The interior finish is Berkeley oak with Half Windsor used on the exterior.

The natural oak brings warmth and character to the room and provides a beautiful backdrop for decorative accessories, books and baskets to hide away bits you don’t want on display.
