Based in Wimbledon village, Gomm Studio specialises in effortlessly recreating both commercial and residential spaces at the highest level. Founded by Louise Gomm, with a diploma from the prestigious KLC School of Design in Chelsea Harbour and experience of high-end global projects, from Singapore to New York, she brings a wealth of interior knowledge and experience which is evident in each and every project.
Having worked with Gomm Studio previously, we were especially delighted to have recently teamed up with the design studio again. This time, on a complete refurbishment of a townhouse in the heart of Chelsea, London.
For us here at Humphrey Munson, the project included cabinetry in the following areas:
- Entrance hallway – boot room style cabinetry;
- Kitchen – contemporary Spenlow cabinetry finished with polished nickel hardware;
- Pantry – walk in pantry with undercounter wine storage;
- Sitting room – TV cabinetry;
- Dining room – banquette seating, bespoke dining table and wine display and storage; and
- Master bedroom – dressing table cabinetry and dressing rooms.
The Spenlow cabinetry throughout this open plan space is finished in bespoke HM paint colour ‘Tailored Grey’, with HM Duffle on the island. Combined with the light quartz worktop and polished nickel hardware, the designs ensures a light, bright and airy feel to the room.
The kitchen, though fairly compact, certainly packs a punch with the appliances; the 5 burner Lacanche Saulieu range cooker, an integrated Gaggenau French door fridge freezer and Miele microwave oven on the main cooking run. There is also a built-in Miele dishwasher and a Quooker hot tap finished in polished nickel over the Kohler sink under the window.
With dining an option at the island or at the table with built-in banquette style seating, the space is perfect whether hosting a friend for cocktails or the whole family for Christmas.
Finished in HM ‘Top Hat’ and situated next to the patio doors, the bespoke wine display and drinks cabinet makes hosting cocktail parties and summer soirees not only an easy feat but also impressive and accessible.
The entrance hall features a bespoke boot room area, the perfect place to leave your muddy boots and kids’ bicycle helmets before heading into the house.
Finally, we also designed and installed the beautiful Portobello oak furniture in the master bedroom and dressing room on the top floor of the exquisite Chelsea townhouse.
