Sub-Zero French Door Fridge Freezer

The Sub-Zero over and under French door fridge freezer is one seriously cool classic. Since being fitted into our St. Albans showroom in 2017, both the team at Humphrey Munson and many of our clients love the iconic classic Sub-Zero look, build quality and just how amazing it is at keeping food fresher for longer.

From the brand that pioneered built-in refrigeration, the sleek aesthetic of this particular model with the distinctive louvred grille and oodles of storage space make for a must have kitchen tool.

Air purification – something you have most likely seen us mention before, the Sub-Zero built-in refrigerators come with an anti-microbial air-purification system. Why is this needed? Many fresh foods emit ethylene gas which is a natural compound that hastens food spoilage. This gas is most prolific with foods like tomatoes (strong producers) and bananas (which emit and are affected by ethylene). The system itself is based on on technology developed by NASA, as well as cleansing the air of ethylene, it also helps to eradicate mould, viruses and bacteria every 20 minutes.

Dual refrigeration – a majorly overlooked but ingenious feature, each built-in combination unit comes with separate cooling systems for the refrigerator and freezer. This may not sound all that exciting or impressive, however this means food stays fresher in cool, moist air on one side, while frigid, dryer air prevents frost and freezer burn on the other. This provides optimum preservation conditions for each type of food.

Spill proof adjustable shelves are such an amazing feature that you simply never knew you missed before you had them. For example, you open the fridge one morning to find something (let’s just say cream) has leaked from the top shelf onto other items below and now you have multiple items covered in sticky, slightly greasy cream. With the Sub-Zero however, this cannot happen thanks to framed glass shelves that actually contains the spills – resulting in a cleaner interior.

The discreet interior water dispenser is another super useful feature. The Sub-Zero can provide up to 35oz of chilled, filtered water which not only blends seamlessly into the design of your kitchen (AKA you can’t see in when the fridge/ freezer door is closed) but the filtration system also reduces contaminants and preserves the water’s clean, fresh taste. Thus reducing plastic waste from bottled water.

The freezer has an automatic ice maker provides you and your guests with crescent shaped ice cubes and includes a ‘max ice’ feature that’s capable of increasing ice production (the ice is purified) by up to 30 percent for around 24hours. This then switches back to regular ice production so you don’t have to worry about forgetting to turn it off.

These are of course just a few of the useful features that not only helps your food stay fresher for longer but creates a more user friendly appliance. To find out more for yourself about Sub-Zero refrigeration visit the website here.
